HEART BEATS
I look for words to keep the beat
In my heart.
So many words but none with sense
To impart.
Perhaps heart beats should be the words
Where lives start.
Troubled by a continuum of conflict, with an apparent variety of causes, dominating our existence I asked why? The answer is a question of meaning I present in a poem, a precis and an essay each aptly titled "The Last Why". All other writings are derivatives. I welcome comments and much appreciate sharing. Thank you. Doug.E.Barr

Even though your comment would be more appropriate to Love I will reply with, love can't hurt ever. The hurt happens when you expect love to come "from a mans good heart..." and a man fails to meet your expectations. Doug.E.Barr

Heart beats, the rhythm of life, can be comforting. Doug.E.Barr
this poem is so good it made my soul feel peacful
Life starts with a heart beat...for sure
I liked it but Love can indeed hurt, especially when you let your feelings take over and when he doesn't feel the same strongly in that way and he smashes your heart into a thousand peices for you to pick them up after to mend your heart again.
Love is a beast that swallows loneliness but yet has a deep potential to tore a heart apart, end hopes in an instant, raise hope then trash them to hatred. A deeper pain that's erodes scars yet shed blood of an invisible colour. It can't be seem and still can only be felt by those that went miles in it when those they are supposed to share it with, only reads it.
A natural phenomenon that detaches natural instincts from a soul.
With it life banishes, without it life glows with tearless encounters.
