They're ends of a continuum.
Our evil blends with good between.
The closer to the good we are
The less of evil will be seen.

As we approach the evil end
Much more of it is evident.
Meanwhile more good will disappear;
And any blend we can present.

They're from reactions to the void,
The generators of our blend.
The one we have is from the range
Defined by those at either end.

With "the ideal" we reach out to
The bounds of our capacity,
To others and to God as well.
This generates the good we see.

Attempts to fill the void within
With eight ways which we reinvent,
Create the evil that we see
Which we've been taught the devil sent.

Our good brings life, our evil death;
And some of each is in our lives.
Replacing evil with our good,
May mean humanity survives.

While hanging on to our beliefs
To others we cannot "...reach out...",
Depriving us of nourishment
For life, we cannot do without.

Religions aren't the source of all
The traits that we consider good,
Or motivation making us
"Do unto others..." as we should.

Good traits and motivations are
What let humanity survive
Until the point in history
Religions started to arrive.

Since then religions have decreased
The 'right' that made humanity.
By just discarding them we can
Return to how we used to be,

One group of individuals
In common cause we all applaud,
Becoming what we each can be
Thus making up the face of God.

Religious leaders

Let's not forget around the world
So many children died that day.
The focus is on Newtown, for
The others are so far away.

Whenever there's a tragedy
Believers try to fit in God
Because they think it's in God's plan,
A view that I cannot applaud.

No tragedy is planned by God;
But if God is, God will be pissed
If in the aftermath God sees
Another chance to change we missed.

The change we need to make is clear.
It's hard yet simple but profound.
We need to drain away beliefs
So we can see our common ground.

From there we reach out to the ends
Of our unique capacities,
To others, and to God as well,
The way that's free of tragedies.

The power that we give to it
Is generated as we try
To fill the void that is within,
We find when asking, "Why am I?"
More money cannot fill the void,
The more we try, the more we need;
The end, a population 'cone'
Disintegrated by our greed.

Our vertical Economy
Will leave humanity undone.
The one with which we can survive
Will be the horizontal one.
To be our servant not our god
Should be Economy's intent.
If we create it we will find
Economy will seem God sent.

The president's acceptance speech
Repeated thoughts from his old song.
"Our road [we've] travelled has been hard.
[As well] our journey has been long."

"Together we [will] rise and fall."
Is thinking that's still wrong it seems.
Together we will surely rise;
We'll fall pursuing "our own dreams".

To rise we need to dream the same.
A common purpose we must see;
To reach out to the limits of
Our own unique capacity.

He shouldn't praise our "politics".
"Democracy" reveals our fights.
Humanity will not survive
The battles for divisive "rights".

"These arguments are [not] a mark
Of liberty." They're chains that bind
Us to beliefs that keep us from
The freedom which we long to find.

We don't have "common hopes and dreams".
The poor dream to be "middle class".
Those in the middle hope to say,
"The rest of you can kiss my ass."

Until Economy is razed,
"The hope that something better []waits"
Will be Obama's legacy.
"God [can not] bless these [untied states]".
